The astronomy cabin (a.k.a. "Area 51") is the primary location for astrophotography. It is in central Oregon, which is about a 6 hr drive from our home in rainy Washington State. It's dry weather, 4000 ft altitude and dark rural skies, make it a very pleasant location to "shoot the stars". As you can see we're totally isolated and depend on solar power and water delivered to our water tank by truck.
